Hello everyone! Welcome to our newly launched Metal Detector Encyclopedia
WikiMD, or Wiki Metal Detectors, is a comprehensive encyclopedia dedicated to the history of metal detectors. Our mission is to create the world’s largest multilingual resource, covering the history of legendary brands such as Minelab, Fisher, White’s, Garrett, Tesoro, D-Tex, and many others. This site is designed for treasure hunters, relic seekers, and coin enthusiasts from all around the world.
We are gathering information about metal detectors from all corners of the globe. On our website, you can find detailed descriptions of American, British, Russian, Polish, Australian, and many other metal detectors produced internationally.
Our journey began with our Russian-language project: ruWikiMD. We are planning to launch similar projects in English, Ukrainian, and other languages in the future. In the meantime, you can use your browser's built-in translation tool to read the content in your native language.

Today, the site features over 600 metal detector models. If you are interested in the history of metal detecting, you will not find a more complete or informative resource. We invite you to explore!
We would like to draw your attention to our "Rarities" section. It showcases vintage metal detectors dating back to the 1950s. People often mistakenly believe that metal detectors are a recent invention. In reality, hobbyist metal detecting has a long history, with devices evolving from primitive single-tone units to complex digital and multi-frequency systems.
The encyclopedia also publishes the latest innovations from the world of treasure hunting. The site describes a multitude of devices, including underwater detectors, ground-search models, deep-seekers, and pinpointers.
We look forward to seeing you there!
